Edward Hopper (1882-1967), Little Boy Looking at the Sea
Artists started to draw when he was 5, he was raised in an ordinary family therefore they could offer only their support and minimum of supplies necessary for painting. The drawing above was sketched on Hopper’s third grade report card in 1891. He lived near the river, consequently many of his childhood drawings on the sides of some papers were inspired by the scenery he saw from the window.
