9. Auschwitz prisoners’ stories
Terrifying stories of Auschwitz prisoners were buried much like time capsules so that people would discover and read them over time. Dreadful evidence was found on camp’s territory in Poland in 1995. Later on, those stories were translated to English, offering new insights into the Holocaust.
Researchers uncovered horrific testimonies of inhuman deeds that were going on in Auschwitz. Jewish prisoners were also able to hide documents and scrolls drafted by Sonderkommando members (also known as Special Squad), work teams of Jewish prisoners that were coerced to work in crematoriums.
