7. The note predicting our not-so-distant future
In 1995 Greg Wilkinson wrote a letter, which made predictions about politics and technology in the upcoming years and placed it inside a wall of his house in Sydney, Australia. Surprisingly, he rightfully foretold China’s rise to power and distorted interpretations of Islam that would begin a “holy war”.
The note was not to be opened for some 50-80 years, however, a local dealer found it in 2016. The note explicitly talks about Australia’s social and political landscape of 1995, listing prices for items like bread, milk, gas and the name of current at the time Australian Prime Minister, as well as technological solution used to write the note.
