DALTON HIGHWAY OF ALASKA
This highway is known for its ruggedness with its isolation. In 1974, Dalton Highway opened as a supply route for the Tran-Alaska Pipeline, although it’s now being used for tours. In 1994, its doors opened for tourist alone.
There have been many complaints of unfriendly ruggedness from the truckers who use it. Aside from the fact that it’s a very cold area, you will need to walk for miles before you will be able to use your cell phone.
There are almost no basic amenities, Yukon River Crossing, Deadhorse and Coldfoot are only the three available gas stations.
This highway is a forever long highway with no people around as a result of infertile soil and the shape of the land.
