DOEL BEVEREN OF BELGIUM

There is a house in this place dated back to the 17th century that has been the talk of the day for many years, the reason being the authorities wanted to demolish the house because there was a need to expand the port of Antwerp. The authorities, in the year 1999, announced that Doel would be demolished.

When the pressure from the government was too much, a group of people came up in 2007 with the name Doel 2020, brought transformation to the town and made it a place where artists display their creativity. The house was at a time owned by Peter Raul Reubens.

The once deserted Doel is now where street artists showcase their artistic works throughout the continent.
